Meet Our Judges: Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive of Kent Community Foundation

Josephine joined grant-maker Kent Community Foundation as Chief Executive in 2017. She brought with her more than 20 years of senior level experience from the charitable sector, including Director of Fundraising and Communications for Imperial College Healthcare Charity in London hospitals and before that, a role which saw her deliver ambitious fundraising targets for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).

During her seven years at the Foundation, Josephine has significantly grown the number of individuals, families and businesses supporting local grassroots charities across Kent and Medway, and firmly established the organisation’s reputation as a beacon and pillar for small voluntary organisations. In the last financial year, she lead the team which distributed more than £4.5m to good causes that helps those most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our county.
